Introduction
User-Friendly and Flexible
Pandion's simple and intuitive user interface has been developed in cooperation with usability experts, making it very easy to use. The user interface is role-based and context-sensitive; in other words, it gives the user relevant information and makes it easy to navigate and find information.
Role-Based Dashboards
The Pandion dashboard screen displays key summary information to the user. The dashboard is customized to the user's main role (either Chartering, Operations or Accounting).
The dashboard provides a set of shortcuts to recently viewed objects (vessels, estimates, voyages, invoices, reports and queries), as well as relevant summary information (alerts, voyage results, recently posted invoices, etc.).
The dashboard also has a powerful Google-like search engine, which allows you to find information about vessels, estimates, voyages, invoices and contracts simply by typing a few keywords. Information in Pandion is full-text-indexed, which means that search results appear instantly.
Powerful, Customizable User Interface
Each user can change his user profile and alter system settings to suit his job role. Search screens can be customized by applying sorting, filters, grouping, and adding and removing columns. These settings can be saved and shared among users.
Chartering
Voyage Estimates
The Pandion Voyage Estimate module supports the chartering process by allowing you to create and compare voyage estimates for potential and planned voyages.
The estimate module also includes analysis tools, and is tightly integrated to the Voyage Operations module. When fixed, the estimate serves as a foundation for voyage operations. When you approve an estimate, you create an actual voyage in the Voyage Module.
Distance Tables
Pandion contains an internal distance table. In addition, it is fully integrated with, and can automatically retrieve distances from, the following standard distance tables:

Port Costs
Pandion contains a database of estimated and actual port costs for ports all around the world. The voyage estimate module can suggest port costs based on vessel segment averages, or you can browse the port cost database and select any port cost.

Voyage estimates can be compared with actual voyage results for analysis and reporting.
Voyage Operations
Voyage Instructions and Agent Appointments
With Pandion you can easily generate and send documents such as voyage instructions and agent appointments. Pandion integrates with messaging systems to send emails, faxes and telexes. Documents are based on templates, which are automatically filled with relevant information from a voyage. Document templates can be either plain text or rich text (including formatting such as bold, italic, tables, and pictures).
Vessel Employment and Fleet Utilization
Pandion automatically calculates vessel employment and utilization based on voyage information. Voyages are split into periods in port (loading, discharging, bunkering), at sea (ballast legs and laden legs), as well as offhire, availability, and theoretical return (for offshore loading operations). Several built-in reports and charts can be used to aggregate and analyze the vessel's performance.
Bunkers Calculation
Pandion calculates bunkers consumption (including fuel oil, diesel oil, and low sulphur fuel oil) and remaining on board (ROB) fuel figures based on the "first in, first out" (FIFO) principle, and keeps track of multiple bunkers quantities with different prices.
Freight Calculation and Invoicing
Pandion calculates freight for conventional shipping (US dollar per metric ton, worldscale, or lump sum) and for offshore loading (freight based on time and bunker consumption). Pandion handles overage and deadfreight, OPA, fixed differential, address commission, as well as user-defined additional freight types. With one click, you can create a freight invoice that is ready to be printed and sent to the customer, and then posted to the accounting system.
Demurrage Calculation
Pandion calculates demurrage and tracks both outgoing and incoming demurrage claims. Pandion contains a number of standard reports to track demurrage (outstanding demurrage by charterer, total demurrage due, etc.). Demurrage invoices can be created automatically by Pandion, ready to be printed and posted to the accounting system.
Electronic Voyage Checklists
In Pandion, every voyage can have an electronic checklist where users from operation and accounting must sign off checklist items before the voyage can be closed and finished. This helps ensure the quality of data in the system, and avoids costly accounting mistakes.
Accounting
Sales and Purchase Invoices
Invoices are automatically generated from voyage and contract information. Invoices can be modified; transaction lines can be added, modified and deleted, and the completed invoice can be be previewed before it is printed and posted to your accounting system.
Monthly Allocations and Accruals
Pandion can generate periodic allocations, typically at the end of every month, where T/C rent and bunkers costs are split and allocated to voyages.
Pandion can also generate accruals, with corresponding reversals, for unpaid freight income and port costs.
Flexible Ledger Accounts
Pandion can be set up with an unlimited number of cost/revenue types, which in turn map to specific ledger accounts in the accounting system. Different groups of customers and suppliers can use different ledger accounts.

Technical Vessel Information
Pandion has a vessel database which contains technical vessel information and contact information for each vessel.
Inspections and Certificates
Pandion tracks each vessel's inspections and certificates, and warns the user when the certificates are about to expire.
Offhire and Other Voyage Events
Pandion tracks offhire and grace periods for every vessel. Standard reports provide an overview of offhire across the fleet.
Pandion also tracks light and ice dues paid for each vessel in the fleet.
